I began my journey as a tutor while tutoring part-time during college at The University of Chicago. I continued to develop my skills while working with children at the Boys and Girls Club of America in New York City while maintaining a full-time career as a healthcare consultant. My love for children and passion for reading came together, leading me to pursue an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Columbia University. I then taught in classrooms across various age groups for several years, enjoying the students in every age group.
While I enjoyed being a classroom teacher, I realized that one-to-one tutoring is not only rewarding but also results in outstanding outcomes. After relocating to Northern Virginia, I founded Tutoring For Success. While many talented tutors are part of our team, I also continue to tutor several students myself—who never fail to make me smile. In addition to my work as both a tutor and administrator, I currently serve on the board of CHADD of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, which specifically helps people who have ADHD. I am passionate about staying informed on the latest trends and scientifically backed education methods, and I frequently write blog posts and contribute articles to local magazines.
